College

Finding a Good "Fit"

There is no perfect college--if there were, everyone would just go there. A good fit for college is not always the popular colleges, best universities, or even where your friends are going. Do not get caught up in the perceived reputation of a college; the hype behind the college name will fade if the school is not a good fit. You have to determine what you need to be successful and what will help you achieve your goals.

Some things to consider when researching colleges:

  • Cost

  • Size

  • Location

  • Distance from home

  • Available majors/classes

  • Support Services

  • Housing options

  • Diversity

  • Sports and other activities

  • Campus atmosphere

  • Policies

  • Religious affiliation
