WCSD Virtual Academy / Summer School 2025

Summer School for High School students will be done online through the Virtual Academy. This includes current 8th graders who will take high school courses in Summer School (e.g. Health). Classes start on Monday, June 9th and end on Monday, July 28th.

For Virtual Academy during the school year:
Please contact your home building school counselor or Virtual Academy School Counselor, Mr. Getner (814) 723-0574 x-1703, if you wish to register for the Virtual Academy.

FULL-TIME and PART-TIME: Those wishing to attend the Virtual Academy full-time or part-time should contact their home building School Counselor - or call Virtual Academy School Counselor, Mr. Getner (814) 723-0574 x-1703 - to discuss this option.

ENRICHMENT: Those wishing to add an Enrichment course (either core or elective) should contact their home building School Counselor - or call Virtual Academy School Counselor, Mr. Getner (814) 723-0574 x-1703 - to discuss this option.

CREDIT RECOVERY (CR): Those wishing to add a Credit Recovery course may do so at any time. Students and/or parents should work with their home building School Counselor to facilitate adding a Credit Recovery class. And remember: a student may ONLY take a CR class if they have previously taken the course and failed to earn a final grade of 60% or higher. To be completed on their own time outside of school or during a Study Hall if their schedule allows.

Please note that there is ONE registration form used for ALL Virtual Academy enrollment options: Full-time, Part-time, Enrichment, & Credit Recovery (CR)

Full-Time: Student will take ALL classes via Virtual Academy.

Part-Time: Student will take some classes in their home building OR at the WCCC and take the remainder of their classes via Virtual Academy.

Enrichment: Student will attend in their building full-time, but will take a class which they will complete either on their own time outside of school, or during a Study Hall in school if their schedule allows.
