The Health and Medical Assisting Program assists students in preparing for a variety of careers in the field of healthcare.  During the first year of the HMA Program, students are given a broad exposure to the foundational concepts of medical terminology, asepsis, anatomy and physiology, and related diseases, disorders, and treatments within each body system.

During the second and third years of the program, students are exposed to a variety of healthcare careers and assisted to better focus in choosing their future academic pursuits.  College visits, entrance requirements, and educational goals are reviewed, along with additional knowledge and patient care concepts building upon the information learned within the first year of the program.  Third year students continue to build on and expand learned concepts and are highly encouraged to pursue cooperative education experiences at one of the many community partners the program is fortunate to enjoy.

College credit is available and students may earn scholarships through SkillsUSA.
