Students in the Welding Technology course of study/program will learn gas, arc, TIG, MIG flux core, and pipe welding in accordance with the American Welding Society and the American standard of testing material specification and take an all-position test. The welding student will also learn blueprint reading and related theory.

• Safety is stressed in all areas of welding. This is a competency-based program. For the more advanced student, we offer the latest in semi-automatic welding "high technology" procedures. Plastic welding is also offered.

• Professional attitudes are developed through activities in Skills USA and in skill competition on district, state and national levels.

• Welding graduates who enroll in associate degree programs and four-year programs may qualify for advanced placement and up to fifteen (15) college credits at Pennsylvania School of Technology, Williamsport, PA, and Alfred Tech, Wellsville, NY. Welding scholarships are available.
