SAVE THE DATE: Come Celebrate Our 5th Graders! We’re sending off our awesome 5th grade students with a Clap-Out on Friday, June 6th, and we’d love for you to join us! Here’s how it’ll work: Families who want to cheer on their 5th grader should gather outside the main entrance and line the sidewalk from the gym doors to the front office doors. This will create a fun send-off path for our students as they walk through. A few quick reminders: Be sure to arrive by 2:20 PM with the clap-out at 2:30. If you want to snap a quick photo, that’s totally fine — just keep it moving so we can get students back inside by 2:45 PM. Students will not be allowed to leave early. They’ll head home the same way they normally do. This helps us keep things safe and smooth for everyone and gives teachers a chance to say one last goodbye. Thanks so much for understanding — YES families are the best!

Weekly Math Fun: Measurement Mix! 📏🔍 This week, turn simple household items into math tools with a fun, hands-on activity that explores length, comparison, and units of measure! Whether your child is using crayons or measuring tape, they’ll build important math concepts through active exploration. Extend the Learning: 🧮 Estimation Practice – Before measuring, ask your child to guess how many objects long the line will be. Were they close? What might affect their estimate? 🔄 Try New Objects – Switch it up by using different non-standard units: LEGO bricks, spoons, toy cars—anything that fits the line! 📊 Record & Compare – Create a chart with the name of each object and how many it took to measure the line. Which item gave the most accurate result? 💬 Ask Thinking Questions – •“Why might your measurement change if you use different objects?” •“When might it be important to use a ruler instead of other items?” This activity builds number sense and introduces key concepts in estimation, measurement, and precision—all with tools you already have at home. Stay tuned for next week’s post, where we’ll explore another way to make math fun and meaningful in everyday moments! 🧠✨

Attention Parents: On Tuesday, May 20th; The Front Visitor Parking Lot will be blocked off for the AM as we have a crane coming to install a unit that needs to be lifted up to the roof of the school building. The crane will arrive around 8:30! Until 8:30, parents may drop off their child at the front entrance curb or park at the side parking lot and walk their child up to the building. Van drop offs in the morning will also run the same! After 8:30, parents who are dropping off their child to school due to an appointment or other reasons, will need to park at the side of the building and walk their child into the building. We don't anticipate this process taking more than an hour or so. Thank you for your patience in this process!
